A Monochrome Interior

Growing up, and while moving from an apartment to a house to an apartment and back to a house, the decor always changed. Each new place we moved into, my mother would design the interior differently but still using three main colors: brown, red, and purple. While I didn’t mind any of those colors, I always felt there should be more light in the house. One house we lived in had a living room with a wall painted in a subtle orange, dark brown furniture and red curtains. While I thought it was very primitive and had warm colors, I couldn’t help but wish the furniture was black and white instead of brown, that the curtains were lighter, and that the orange wall was white with accents- such as paintings and pictures- to color it.

I put together a set of pictures below gathered from Tumblr.com and Pinterest.com to serve as inspiration for when the time comes to design my own place, with white walls, and full of natural light.
